Dermatological diseases and treatments
Keloids are scars that grow in size. They occur in patients in whom the scarring process is exaggerated, giving rise to a bulky scar which can sometimes be painful. It can appear on any part of the body but some areas are particularly prone, such as the upper third of the back and the chest. One of the most commonly-used treatments is the injection of a drug into the keloid, aimed at reducing its volume. At the Dr. Javier Bassas Dermatology Centre we will discuss with you the most appropriate treatment options depending on the size and location of the keloid, its evolution time, and any previous treatments undertaken.
