Lentigo (skin spots)
Lentigo is localised hyper pigmentation on the skin. It usually appears as well-defined light or dark brown 'spot'. There are three types of lentigines: solar, simple and malignant.
Solar lentigo is a very common reason for consultation. Once a malignant lesion has been ruled out, various individualised treatment options are proposed in order to treat and eliminate the ‘spot’.
At the Dr. Javier Bassas Dermatology Centre we will inform you about the most appropriate treatment on the basis of phototype (skin colour) and the extent and type of lesion. We use laser to treat lentigines. For patients with cutaneous photoageing we offer treatments that combine laser with chemical peeling, which gives very satisfactory results.
